Comedian and broadcaster Don Maclean is to provide after-golf entertainment at a charity golf tournament being held to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Big Build appeal for a new hospice for the West Midlands.
The event will take place at the prestigious Henley Golf and Country Club, Henley-in-Arden on Wednesday September 14. Funds raised from the tournament will help Marie Curie achieve its target of £7 million towards the cost of the new hospice.
Chairman of the organising committee, businessman David Grove, said: “We are setting out to make this the premier charity golf event of the year in our area and we are already seeing a considerable amount of interest in mixing golf with an opportunity for business networking while raising money for a great cause”.
Businesses are invited to enter teams of four at a total cost of £500 to include a light lunch, an 18-hole golf competition, prizes and a dinner with wine and entertainment.
