Black Country locksmith D J Lock & Hardware has acquired distribution company Lester & Co for an undisclosed fee.
DJLH, which employs six people at its base in Willenhall, was advised in the acquisition by Black Country law firm Manby & Steward.
The purchase of Lester & Co, which employs seven people at Cradley Heath, is intended to help DJLH distribute goods more effectively, while increasing its buying power and market share.
Lester & Co will continue trading from its Cradley Heath site, securing the future of the staff employed there.
DJLH was founded in 1994 and has an annual turnover of £500,000 and is best known for manufacturing cylinders and master keys and providing mechanical access systems for universities and hospitals across the country.
The deal will see its annual turnover increase three fold to £1.5 million.
David Inkster, managing director of D J Lock & Hardware, said: "The acquisition of Lester & Co creates an opportunity for DJLH to develop a greater presence in the window and door market. It is an exciting time for us."
Kam Johal, who advised on the deal, said: "The deal offers a fantastic opportunity for D J Lock & Hardware to move the company onto the next level."
