On Wednesday from 12.30pm, Chancellor George Osborne will present the coalition government’s Comprehensive Spending Review to Parliament.
This will set out the spending plans for each government department over the next four years.
Departmental spending covers defence, welfare payments, business support, schools and hospitals.
It is widely expected that thousands of public sector jobs across UK could be lost as a result of the new spending plans.
The Birmingham Post will keep you updated throughout the afternoon as details of the spending review are announced, along with reaction to the measures from the world of politics and business.
