James Leo has been promoted to partner at Birmingham law firm Coley & Tilley.

The litigation and employment law expert joined the firm in 2000, following his admission as a solicitor, progressing to associate in 2002.

Among the high profile cases he has handled recently is the compensation claims of four people injured followed the stage collapse at Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre.

He secured a six figure sum for the victims. He is currently handling a commercial contract dispute valued at more than £3 million.

Coley & Tilley offers legal advice to both businesses and private clients.

Mr Leo, aged 32, is tasked with continuing the growth in the commercial litigation and employment departments.

Peter Coleman, senior partner at the firm, said: "James' rise from newly qualified lawyer to partner in just six years is indicative of the contribution he has made to the firm."
