Birmingham law firm Wragge & Co has acted on a facilities management contract worth almost £33 million.

The firm advised Lovell on the £32.8 million deal which is part of a £300 million housing project in North Tyneside containing nearly 1,000 new apartments for elderly residents.

The Wragge & Co team worked with Lovell, a subsidiary of long-standing client Morgan Sindall Group, to deliver a detailed facilities management contract for the upkeep of the apartments over the next 28 years.

As well as long-term maintenance, the contract also provides for responsive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance, repairs to void properties and gas and electricity servicing and testing.

Wragge & Co partner Stephen Kenny and associate Elizabeth Williams led on the transaction.

Ms Williams said: "This project will be a vital asset to Tyneside and a detailed facilities management agreement was an essential aspect of the project.

"Our cross-firm, multi-disciplinary team worked hard to deliver a contract that guarantees the long-term maintenance of these properties - vital for investors and future residents of the properties alike."

Assisting on the deal were corporate infrastructure finance solicitor Natalie Scoones and associate Erika Pircher-Eschig, pensions associate Crispin Freeman and employment solicitor Jennifer Harper.
