The expanding Solihull office of The Wilkes Partnership has been boosted by the hire of a solicitor specialising in dispute resolution and litigation.

Felix Dodd, who in his spare time is an accomplished pianist, joins the firm’s litigation department from Stafford-based ORJ Solicitors.

His experience includes involvement in a wide range of commercial disputes including those connected with intellectual property (IP).

In this area, his experience has included protecting design rights and copyright and defending companies from trade mark infringement.

The Wilkes Partnership partner Nick Carter, who heads the litigation team at The Wilkes Partnership’s Solihull office, said: “Felix’s recruitment is a sign of our confidence in the future, as the growth prospects of the economy continue to improve, and of our intent to expand the team here in Solihull.

“His general commercial litigation expertise will add further strength in depth to our team, while his focus on IP law will enable us to add more value to our commercial clients’ businesses.

“For example, we will be advising clients on the identification and protection of their IP assets as well as assisting them with disputes. There is definite scope to gain market share in this branch of the law, which continues to grow in significance.

“Felix will also be representing clients in a wide range of other commercial disputes and will also be actively involved in our drive for new business”.

The Wilkes Partnership merged with Solihull-based Williamson & Soden in May 2013 and has a 15 strong team of dispute resolution and litigation specialists based in Solihull and Birmingham

Mr Dodd, who lives in Lichfield, read law at the University of Nottingham and completed his legal training at the College of Law in Guildford. He is a musician and a keen sportsman.
