A Solihull-based law firm has outlined plans for significant expansion with the creation of eight new jobs after securing a new financial package.

Wadsworths Solicitors, based in Stratford Road in Shirley, now plans to grow its commercial, commercial property and litigation departments.

It says it will also launch marketing initiatives as the firm looks to support clients in a wider geographical area, with plans to open a second office within the next 12 months in a bid to increase in its client portfolio.

As a result of its plans, Wadsworths Solicitors has already added four new colleagues to its team, with plans to recruit five more in the coming months, increasing its total headcount by 50 per cent.

The undisclosed finance deal was provided by Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

John Wadsworth, managing director of Wadsworths Solicitors, said: "This expansion marks the first phase of our growth plan which sets out our ambition to expand the range of services we offer as well as increasing the geographical area in which we offer them.

"This finance will enable us to fund the infrastructure for such expansion.

"The support of the Lloyds Bank team has proved fundamental to this process and we look forward to working alongside the bank as we continue to realise our vision for the company."

Established in 1986, the family-run business has been managed solely by John Wadsworth since January 2008 when his father and company founder Stephen retired from day-to-day control.

Andrew Woolman, relationship director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, added: "We're committed to providing access to funding for firms with ambitions to expand and Wadsworths Solicitors has certainly drawn up an impressive growth plan.

"We're proud to specialise in providing support to professional services clients, driven by our understanding of their specific needs and the regulations the sector faces, leaving them best placed to achieve their ambitions."
