A city law firm has strengthened three core areas: corporate, dispute resolution and pensions, with a trio of promotions.
Wragge & Co has promoted Richard Goold, Patrick Arben and Jane Kola to its all-equity partnership.
Mr Goold is a corporate lawyer with a strong track record advising on UK and cross-border private equity and M&A transactions.
He has played a lead role in the firm’s sector-focused tech team and is adept at winning and developing client relationships. Examples include securing a $40 million deal for NYSE-listed Cambrex Corporation, advising Talis Group on a major disposal and winning work from new client, Business Growth Fund.
Dispute resolution specialist Mr Arben is part of a dedicated, six-lawyer team providing sector-focused advice on risk management and dispute resolution to IT and outsourcing clients.
Ms Kola becomes the firm’s eighth partner in Wragge & Co’s award-winning pensions team. A former partner at pensions niche firm Sacker & Partners, she joined Wragge & Co as a director in 2007.
She has since established her credentials as one of the firm’s experts on pure advisory, investment and governance work. Senior partner Quentin Poole said: “Richard, Patrick and Jane are perfect examples of what it takes to become a Wragge & Co partner. Each one excels in their given field, providing outstanding advice on often highly complex matters. They are curious about clients and their worlds, framing their advice to match the client’s commercial context.
“Importantly, they are role models within their teams, demonstrating the mix of client service, technical excellence, business development and leadership that marks them out as successful partner candidates. They have worked hard and have consistently shown they are of partnership calibre.”
Wragge & Co has appointed a new partner, boosting its planning capability in the infrastructure, property development and regeneration sectors. SJ Berwin planning partner Duncan Field is joining the planning and regeneration team in the spring.
