Wragge & Co has taken on a new commercial litigation partner. Tom Ellis, currently a senior litigation partner at Bevan Brittan, will be joining the firm later this year.

During a 20-year career, Mr Ellis has built up experience of advising corporate and public sector clients on high-value and complex commercial litigation. He also has a track record in corporate investigations and fraud.

Senior partner Quentin Poole said: “Tom is a highly-respected and trusted figure with the credibility, energy and ambition to help us strengthen our existing practice. He has an exceptional ability to build strong relationships with clients, combined with a reputation for providing technically excellent advice. He’s a first class addition to the Commercial Litigation team.”

Mr Ellis began his career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer before moving to Bevan Ashford (now Bevan Brittan) in 1994. He became a partner in 1998. He specialises in the conduct of major actions for fraud, breach of fiduciary duties and economic torts, contractual disputes relating to the supply of goods and services and professional negligence claims. He is also a CEDR-accredited mediator. Wragge & Co’s dispute resolution capability is one of the UK’s largest. With a core team of 185 lawyers, including experts in contract and commercial, construction, mediation and arbitration, regulatory litigation, IT, IP, professional negligence, insurance and volume debt recovery, its client base includes major corporates, public sector organisations and multi-nationals based in multiple jurisdictions. In the Chambers FTSE survey list of disputes advisers to the FTSE 100 and 250, it is ranked equal third.

Mr Ellis’s appointment takes the total number of partners in the disputes practice at Wragge & Co to 37.
