Law firm Eversheds has welcomed ten more members to a pioneering partnership scheme it runs with African law firms.
The Eversheds Africa Law Institute (EALI), which now has 33 firms on board, is a platform aimed at encouraging collaboration and best legal practice across Africa.
EALI provides a forum which enables member law firms in Africa to access training, secondment and knowledge sharing programmes for lawyers and clients while fostering commercial opportunities on a regional and international basis.
Launched in October 2013 with 14 member firms, EALI has experienced rapid growth and has now a network of 33 members in 37 offices across 31 African countries.
The scheme’s new recruits are: Eva Caldeira Marques in Cape Verde, Cabinet Thomas Dingamgoto in Chad, Martinet & Martinet in Djibouti, Sarwat A Shahid Law Firm in Egypt, Fikadu Law Office in Ethopia, Bikalou Avocats in Gabon, Liberian Legal Service International in Liberia, SCP Yankouri in Niger, SCP Akakpo in Togo and Dube and Manikai & Hwacha Legal Practitioners in Zimbabwe.
The firms will join the existing 23 member firms, including Eversheds’ hubs in Mauritius, South Africa and Tunisia.
