A record number of barristers from Birmingham’s St Ives Chambers are to be included in the new edition of the legal directory Chambers & Partners.
Although the 2015 publication is not due to be released until later in the year, St Ives Chambers has been notified that 18 members have been selected as leaders in their field in the UK Bar Guide.
Head of chambers Nicholas Cole, who himself has been listed for both his regulatory work and his family law expertise, said he was delighted with the announcement.
He said: “It is a brilliant result and one of which all at St Ives can be very proud.
“Everyone who has been listed has worked hard to establish themselves in their area of law and their inclusion in this year’s rankings is a reflection of the quality of counsel.”
Inclusion in the respected Chambers and Partners guides is widely considered to be the benchmark for excellence in the legal profession.
Released every year, the Bar Guide lists the leading barristers across the UK in different areas of law.
Mr Cole added: “Being included in Chambers & Partners is a welcome recognition of excellence for each of the 18 barristers who will be listed and our best ever entry in the guide is an indication of the quality of work we continue to have throughout St Ives Chambers, in a broad range of practice areas. I am particularly pleased several have secured their first entry in the guide.”
St Ives barristers due to be listed are Nicholas Cole, Jeremy Weston QC, Elizabeth Isaacs QC, Paul Lopez, Michael Singleton, David Jackson, Jayne Mullen, Nicholas Starks, Matthew Haynes, Justine Lattimer, Tracy Lakin, Peter Cooper, Nina Bache, Andrew Day, Kevin Saunders, Matthew Maynard, Michelle Caney and Anya Newman.
