Law firm Shoosmiths has appointed two partners to its Birmingham office.

Kate Featherstone joins from Pinsent Masons where she was a senior associate in the tax team and will head up Shoosmiths' tax offering in Birmingham.

She has significant experience of private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and reorganisations.

David Adams, who was previously lead partner for the Midlands banking team at Squire Sanders, will focus on all aspects of banking and restructuring, working closely with some of the UK's major banks and financial institutions.

He has advised some of the world's largest banks and specialises in real estate finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, pensions-related finance, restructuring, refinancing and  asset-based lending.

Head of office Jason Jackson said: "David and Kate's moves to join Shoosmiths mark another forward step for our tax and banking teams here in Birmingham.

"Both partners have strong reputations for technical excellence and expertise and are a great cultural fit. We wish them every success here."
