A ccountants PKF have launched a 2012 unit dedicated to helping West Midlands businesses make the most of the opportunities the London Olympics will bring.
PKF partner Toby Stephenson said: "This once in a lifetime event presents organisations in business, retail, IT, construction, engineering, tourism, hospitality and creative with opportunities to grow their businesses and be part of one of the largest urban regeneration programmes in Europe, post World War II."
Businesses needed to ask themselves how they could take advantage of the opportunities.
PKF has assembled a team of senior personnel from across the firm's management consultancy, research and finance teams to help them.
Mr Stephenson said: "As we represent organisations from across hotels, construction, skills, training, tourism, hospitality, and business services sectors, we have built a valuable knowledge base about the interests, concerns and challenges they face gearing up to make a positive contribution to what we all recognise to be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
"We will provide sound analysis and intelligence on which to make investment decisions.
"Moreover, in a complicated organisational environment, with impending procurement deadlines, we will help our clients to shape, rather than react to opportunities, at each stage of the planning and delivery of the Games."
