PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Midlands is investing in the recruitment of 89 new graduates to work in the firm’s Midlands offices, as part of its on-going commitment to hiring and developing new talent for the benefit of local businesses.
At the firm’s Birmingham office, 56 new graduates have been recruited and each of them will gain an insight into a variety of practice areas from audit and advisory services, to tax and corporate finance. In addition to this year’s graduate intake, the local office is also providing business placements to eight undergraduate students as part of their degree courses.
Mark Smith, regional chairman at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Midlands, said: “It is great to be investing in hiring and developing new talent at a time when many businesses are looking for ways to cut costs and drive efficiencies. In the past five years, the firm in the Midlands has taken on 486 new graduates.
“It is crucial that businesses in the region remain focused on skills development in order to emerge from the current economic slowdown stronger and ready to take full advantage of the opportunities that accompany the upturn.
“Across the firm, we have received a record number of applicants for graduate positions and the acceptance rate has been fantastic. This means we are securing some of the best talent available to support local businesses.”
