The Birmingham office of national law firm Gateley has announced a number of promotions following a significant year.
During the past 12 months Gateley has entered the top 50 law firm rankings for the first time, opened its eighth office in Leeds and completed more than 200 corporate deal transactions with an aggregate deal value in excess of £2 billion.
On the back of a successful year the firm has promoted nine of its Birmingham employees with seven promotions from solicitor to associate and two from associate to senior associate.
In the corporate team Sarah McLoughlin, Jody Webb and James Dyson are promoted from solicitor to associate along with Victoria Portman in corporate recovery, Merran Sewall in employment, Neil Warner in dispute resolution and Helen Roberts in real estate.
Andrew Cowan becomes a senior associate in the corporate team and Elaine Huttley, who is currently on maternity, is promoted to a senior associate in the employment team.
Michael Ward, senior partner in England, said: “It’s been a significant year for the firm which, despite operating in a market that continues to present challenges, has seen us increase our turnover by eight per cent throughout England and Scotland.”
