The founding partner of a Midland law firm has promoted a lawyer to associate after first spotting his talent in another firm where they worked together eight years ago.

Chris Else, of Else Solicitors, was impressed by the abilities of De Montfort University law graduate Peter Brewer when he was his supervising partner at the Smith Partnership in Derby, where Peter qualified.

He then spent four years as an assistant solicitor at Fraser Brown in Nottingham before being recruited in 2006 by Chris Else shortly after he had formed his own firm.

Peter, aged 31, has spent less than two years with Else Solicitors before being promoted to associate in the insolvency and banking department, where he now works with department head Steve Maskell.
