Solihull law firm Harris Cooper Walsh has expanded into Warwickshire, with the opening of a branch in Stratford-upon-Avon town centre.

The company said the new office on Union Street was part of a development programme at the firm, which would also include setting up free advice helplines and extending its opening hours.

Mike Gahan, the senior partner at Harris Cooper Walsh, said: "We are looking forward to opening an office in Stratford where we feel we can make a difference in the way legal advice is administered.

"As an all-law company we specialise in every aspect of corporate and private law and our innovative approach has proved a remarkable success in Solihull. The free helplines have aided prospective clients through the first ‘unsure’ phase of meeting a lawyer and the Thursday evening late opening has allowed those who can’t get away from work during the day to see a solicitor much quicker than they would normally.

"The Stratford opening is very important to us. It is the first of a major expansion plan for the company which is based on making ourselves more accessible to clients, more customer friendly."

The branch office will open in Union Street on Monday, March 15, and on that day there will be free legal advice for new clients.

Mr Gahan added: "Law firms have to become more approachable in this day and age, that’s how companies in other business sectors survive. The customer is all important and that’s how this company will move forward."

HCW has been established for 30 years and currently has a staff of 12 specialist legal advisers. It services commercial and personal clients throughout the West Midlands and the UK.

At the end of last year it expanded its commercial property and family departments with the appointment of two new senior associates.

Ryan Ferguson, a specialist in commercial property and development law, joined from the commercial property team at Eversheds. And Sian Kenkre, a specialist in family and divorce law, has moved from the family team at Shakespeare Putsman.
