The finance disputes team of law firm SGH Martineau has been strengthened by the arrival of new partner Kamran Rehman.

Mr Rehman, who has moved from West End firm Jeffrey Green Russell, is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association and specialises in commercial and banking disputes and professional negligence actions.

Like most SGH Martineau partners, he will split his time across the London and Birmingham offices, with a national remit.

His rise to partner in nine years has been built on a successful track record acting for banks and real estate lenders in finance disputes.

Mr Rehman also has extensive expertise on issues such as contractual disputes, gaming and property.

He said: “SGH Martineau has a growing reputation for advising on finance dispute matters - a firm I’ve kept an eye on for some time.

“Meeting the management team and gaining insight into their growth plans made it an easy choice and the time was right. We share the same ambitions.”

David Bailey, head of the disputes resolution group at SGH Martineau, said: “Kamran is just what we were looking for. He has a wealth of experience across a broad range of dispute matters, from finance to property and gaming, all of which fits perfectly with the majority of the work on which we are instructed. He joins at a particularly busy time, with a personal drive and enthusiasm that’s inspiring.”

He added: “Kamran’s time as an in-house legal adviser for a major drinks manufacturer ensures he understands the commercial realities faced by businesses in the UK.

“He has a reputation for offering practical, concise and cost effective commercial solutions that add value and make a positive difference to clients.”
