Two staff members have been promoted at Stratford-based Lodders Solicitors.

Financial director Mike Borg and tax specialist Eamonn Daly become the equivalent of fixed share partners in the limited liability partnership.

Mr Borg joined the firm four years ago after 35 years with Barclays Bank.

Mr Daly spent 10 years with NatWest private banking in Birmingham before joining Lodders in 2000.

He specialises in giving tax planning advice to individuals and managing a portfolio of trusts.

Appointed an associate in 2005, he was the first ever non-solicitor to hold the position in the history of the firm.

Non-solicitors were only able to become partners in law firms following the enactment of the initial provisions of the Legal Services Act 2007 last year.

David Lodder, senior partner, said: “Mike and Eamonn have brought much to the firm and we greatly value their input, experience and wise advice.

“Now that non-solicitors can be made partners it was important that they took the step up.”
