A regional law firm has put a quarter of a million pounds towards a new software system to support growth.

Thursfields Solicitors, based in Worcester, Kidderminster and Stourport, put the £250,000 investment into a new integrated IT system which it said would make it more efficient, bringing in more business.

The investment in the new solution will provide enhanced document, case and practice management systems working across Thursfields’ three Worcestershire offices from which some 114 staff are employed.

The investment is being made to provide a more comprehensive and integrated system as the number of clients using the firm’s services continues to grow.

Thursfields managing partner Nick O’Hara said: “Thursfields is growing and with that comes the need for expanded IT solutions which will allow all our staff to run a centralized document management and workflow system for clients.

“This will help maintain our focus and commitment to delivering an ever better service and support to clients, meeting their needs in the professional, approachable, efficient manner that Thursfields is recognised for.  In today’s current climate, these factors are more vital than ever.”

Thursfields employs more than 50 staff, and works in business law, property, litigation and family work among other areas.

The firm took on SOS Connect from Solicitors Own Software to put in the new IT system at its offices across the West Midlands. SOS was chosen following a rigorous five way-pitch process to ensure the correct product and provider were selected.

David McNamara, the managing director of SOS said: “Thursfields is to be congratulated on investing in the latest technology which will help them to work more efficiently and provide new and improved services to clients. We greatly look forward to working with them over the coming months.

The implementation of SOS Connect and roll out to the Thursfields’ offices is set to go live in June this year.
