Kings Chambers has announced that David Casement QC has been appointed a Deputy High Court Judge bringing Kings’ representation at the High Court bench to five individuals.

Mr Casement, a commercial law specialist who practises across Kings’ network of offices in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds, will be allocated work in the Queen’s Bench Division.

His appointment follows a competitive process in which serving Circuit Judges and Recorders applied for up to 30 places.

Mr Casement will work in London and other Civil Justice centres in England and Wales. He joins four existing Kings Chambers practitioners as a Deputy High Court Judge; Dr Nicholas Braslavksy QC, Paul Chaisty QC, Lesley Anderson QC and Vincent Fraser QC.

“I would like to congratulate David on his appointment,” said Nicholas Braslavksy QC, head of Chambers at Kings.

“We are always delighted to support the continuing professional development of our members and it is very pleasing to see that David’s skills have been recognised in this way.

“It’s a great honour to have been selected after the competition for places late last year,” adds David. “I’m very much looking forward to this exciting challenge, which takes place at a time of great change within civil justice.”
