A lawyer from Anthony Collins Solicitors in Birmingham has been highly-commended at a prestigious industry awards event.

Kate Jackson, a solicitor in private legal services at Anthony Collins Solicitors, was runner-up in the Assistant Solicitor of the Year category at The Lawyer Awards.

She was recognised for her dedicated work with clients, as well as her commitment to charity and community causes.

Ms Jackson has developed a specialist practice in Court of Protection litigation to complement the long standing mental health work of the firm. She is regularly instructed in complex welfare matters and is recognised for her expertise in this emerging field.

She was instrumental in setting up the Court of Protection users’ group in Birmingham to provide a forum for legal professionals who work in these sensitive areas of the law.

Romaine Thompson, senior partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors, said: “We are proud to see Kate recognised by The Lawyer Awards, especially as she is one of our own, having completed her training with Anthony Collins Solicitors.

“She is committed and pro-active, but also offers vital and expert support to people at some of the most difficult times of their lives.”

Ms Jackson said: “I was delighted to be nominated for the awards, so to finish runner-up from a shortlist of eight is a real honour. I’m pleased my contribution has been recognised, but this is as much down to the great team we have at Anthony Collins Solicitors and the passion we all have for our work.”
