Five newly-promoted associates and senior associates have taken centre stage at a Birmingham and London law firm, putting the value of home-grown talent back in the spotlight.

T heir appointment across five of Martineau Johnson's practice groups underlines its commitment to the progression of its staff, the firm said.

"As well as a number of high-profile lateral hires to the firm in recent months, Martineau Johnson also prides itself in maintaining its commitment to existing employees," said managing partner Bill Barker.

"We recognise the contribution that they make to the success of the firm and the number of long-serving employees and trainees that have remained at the firm is testament to this."

Four associates were appointed to the firm's expanding intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, private client and property litigation teams.

Debbie Beet was also promoted to senior associate within the firm's debt recovery team.

"These new appointments are valuable additions to our firm and go a long way to further strengthening our operations in these areas.

"A personal approach and long-standing relationship with clients are important factors in our success and the progression of individuals provides continuity," Mr Barker added.
