A West Midlands primary school has re-opened as an academy with the help of law firm Higgs & Sons.

The governors and headteacher of Mesty Croft Academy, Wednesbury believe converting to an academy will give them the autonomy, control and flexibility to implement new measures to improve the education received by pupils at the school.

The school was assisted in the conversion by a team from Black Country law firm, Higgs & Sons. Kate Legg from the commercial team, Jo Walker an associate in the firm’s employment department and experts Philip Martin and Richard Honnick using their commercial property knowledge supported the conversion.

Associate, Kate Legg who supported Mesty Croft throughout the project said: “Although Higgs & Sons can offer advice on a one off project, we prefer to develop long term relationships with our clients. We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with Mesty Croft Academy and wish them every success for the future.”
