Law firm Harris Cooper Brownings has reacted to improved market conditions by establishing a cohesive commercial department specialising in all aspects of company and commercial law.

The firm, which has offices in Solihull, Stratford-upon-Avon, Redditch, Alcester and Harborne, has pooled all its commercial law resources into a 12-specialist team able to advise on commercial property, social housing law and practice, housing management, landlord and tenant, employment law, business restructuring and insolvency.

The commercial department deals with business start-ups, selling and buying companies and mergers, land and property acquisitions and disposals, planning matters, disputes between firms and employees as well as business partners.

HCB, which in the last two years has grown into a nine-partner practice with a staff of 60, has recently taken on two new associate solicitors – Melissa Danks, a litigation specialist and Sarah Rao, a commercial property and social housing specialist – to cope with the increase in workload.
