A glut of acquisitions, sales and flotations have seen a legal firm complete £65 million worth of deals in the first quarter – not far short of its total last year.
Harrison Clark, based in Cheltenham and Worcester, has completed a total of 25 transactions in the period from December to the end of February.
The £65 million worth of deals completed by the 14-strong corporate team is just £7 million short of the total the firm achieved last year.
Transactions completed by the corporate team in the first quarter include advising Focus Solutions Group on its sale to Standard Life, advising management teams in respect of two management buy-outs, and advising on the acquisition by a large regional software provider of a local rival.
Rod Thomas, Harrison Clark’s managing partner and head of business services, said: “The value of the deals completed in our first quarter was only £7 million less than the total value of transactions completed in 2010, indicating that confidence is coming back to the market and people are willing to get deals done.
“It’s also an endorsement of our service, quality and depth of expertise.”
In order to ensure that all angles of corporate transactions are covered, Harrison Clark’s corporate team is supported by the full service expertise of the firm’s other business and private legal departments.
The corporate team also offers specialist banking and tax advice.
The firm has a total of 181 members of staff and partners based in Worcester and Cheltenham.
