Members of the retail team at the Birmingham office of city law firm Gateley are among those getting ready to walk on fire in a bid to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

More than 30 representatives from Gateley, Baker Tilly, CP Bigwood, AJ Mucklow and PNB Paribas will be at the Swan Inn in Whitacre, Coleshill, on March 29 as they attempt to walk bare foot over 15 feet of red hot wood embers burning at a temperature of around 500 degrees.

James Madill, real estate associate at Gateley is leading the firm’s team of fire walkers on the night and will be joined by partner, James White, associate, Neil Gosling, solicitor Paula Inglis and trainee solicitors, Dan Shaw and Paul Wild.

He said: “Acorns Children’s Hospice is a long standing client of the firm and we recently advised on its 50th retail store opening in Moseley. The team wanted to give something back and decided to set themselves the ultimate challenge whilst hopefully raising a lot of money for the charity. We’re trying not to think too much about the task in hand but we’re looking forward to doing something a bit different for a fantastic cause.”
