The Birmingham office Freeth Cartwright has boosted its senior team with the appointments of employment lawyers Rebecca Sawbridge and Philip Pepper.

Ms Sawbridge, who will head up the Colmore Row-based employment practice, joins from rival Midlands law firm Shoosmiths, where she was a partner and employment team head.

Senior associate Mr Pepper joins Freeth Cartwright from Weightmans, where he worked out of both the Birmingham and Leicester offices.

Freeth Cartwright’s Birmingham managing partner, Richard Beverley, said: “These senior appointments will further strengthen an employment team which is already one of the most comprehensive in the Midlands, with nine partners and a total of 18 advisers in all aspects of employment law. We are delighted to have Rebecca and Philip on board here in Birmingham specifically. Both are highly qualified and respected practitioners who have an excellent reputation in the local marketplace.”

The expansion of Freeth Cartwright’s employment team comes after the firm recenty completed a relocation from Victoria Square to larger city centre premises on Colmore Row.
