Law firm Shoosmiths has expanded its national asset finance practice with five lawyers leaving DWF in Birmingham and Manchester to join its team.
Partner Roger Potgieter and solicitor Charlotte Healey will join the team in Birmingham, while Janet Dalton becomes the new head of Shoosmiths’ financial services team in Manchester, joined there by associates Suzanne Taylor and Aleea Bhatoo.
Mr Potgieter returns to his role as a partner at Shoosmiths, having spent time at Cobbetts and DWF.
He specialises in recoveries, general litigation and advice for auto finance and asset finance clients and will continue to focus on this at Shoosmiths, whilst also assisting partner Mel Chell to manage and grow the recoveries team.
Ms Healey joins as a solicitor in the asset finance recoveries team, specialising in motor finance and general asset finance litigation. She was a senior solicitor at DWF.
Shoosmiths’ asset finance partner, Stephen Dawson, said: “The strategic hire of Janet, Roger and their supporting teams, is our bold response to growing demand for advice in the asset finance and regulatory sectors.
“We are seen as leaders, and we need to recruit the very best lawyers to support our reputation.
“It is great to see Roger back with us at Shoosmiths and both Janet and Roger are bringing exceptional skills and expertise to our award-winning national team.
“Aleea, Suzanne and Charlotte are very highly regarded lawyers too. We would like to welcome all and wish them all the very best at Shoosmiths.”
