A newly-qualified Leamington solicitor has been appointed by the employment law unit at Blythe Liggins following two years as a trainee.

Sophie Tallis, aged 25, who graduated with a degree in law from Birmingham University in 2002 and went on to complete her legal practice certificate at the College of Law in London, trained in all departments at Blythe Liggins before deciding to specialise in employment law.

"It is an exciting time to be establishing myself within the department as the field of employment is undergoing important changes as new age discrimination laws are due to come into force in October, which will have a huge effect on recruitment, promotion and dismissals," she said.

Richard Moon, a partner and head of the Employment Law Unit, said: "We have been impressed with Sophie's application to enriching her experience of law in all areas of the firm."

Meanwhile, law graduate Lynsey Hall has taken the last step towards qualifying as a solicitor by starting her training contract at Blythe Liggins.

Lynsey, also 25, a Birmingham University graduate, will spend the next 12 months at the firm.
