Accountants and business adviser Dains has set up a new department to help Asian businesses in Birmingham and the West Midlands.
The firm says the influence of Asian businesses on the local economy is increasing significantly with Birmingham predicted to be the UK's first ethnic majority city in the UK by 2010.
Dains, which has fives offices in the Midlands, says its new team is dedicated to understanding the Asian culture and providing a service that reflects multi-ethnic and individual needs.
Audit director Shokat Zaman (pictured), who heads the new team, said: "Asian family businesses have built their financial success on personal contacts, family ties and opportunistic expansion.
"At Dains we understand the cultural inheritance and the rapidly challenging business environment within which the Asian business community and family businesses operate.
"Offering the knowledge and expertise of a specialist team that works with you to understand your business needs and expectations, we provide a dedicated service from start ups and much more to personal financial planning."
