Almost 80 businessmen and women from across the region enjoyed the largest annual golf day ever hosted by Midlands solicitors Needham & James.

Nineteen teams, each headed by a player from the firm, took part in a shotgun start at the Menzies Welcombe Hotel and Golf Course in Stratford upon Avon on June 4.

The winning team, which won with 93 points, was led by associate Kyle Wyness from Needham & James’ dispute resolution department in Birmingham.

His team included Chris Bicknell from Bloomer Heaven – who also achieved the winning individual title with 40 points – Andrew Pontin from Engall Castle & Millipchap, and Tony Hill from Knight Frank.

Employment associate Alan Dark headed up the second-placed team which narrowly missed out on the top spot by one point.
His team included second-placed individual Bob Geddes from Shires Accident Repairs, and third-placed individual Hugh MacKinnon from Copia Financial Services. Adrian Hull, partner in dispute resolution at Needham & James’ Stratford office was the firm’s highest individual scorer.

Herbert Andrews, managing partner, said: “This was a super day with a high standard of golf being played. As a firm we’ve hosted the golf day since 2000 and have seen it grow in popularity year-on-year. The event offers an ideal opportunity to relax with colleagues and business contacts and I look forward to seeing even more competitors here next year.”
