Four Birmingham solicitors who are taking on a host of marathons to raise money for charity have surpassed their £10,000 target.
The Anthony Collins Solicitors’ team, called FourCubed, passed the target after a donation of £2,000 from the Nestor Partnership.
The team have moved on from the gruelling London Marathon and are now in their final preparations for the Edinburgh Marathon less than five weeks later.
The Edinburgh Marathon represents the sixth of 12 runs that the FourCubed team will take part in within a 12 month period, their aim being to raise as much money as possible for the charity Whizz-Kidz.
The team – Rankeshwar Batta, Amy O’Connor, Kate Jackson and David Evison – have already completed the Birmingham Half Marathon, the Gloucester Marathon, a Stratford 10km race, the Liverpool Half Marathon and most recently the Virgin London Marathon.
Ms Batta said: “At Anthony Collins Solicitors we have a fantastic working relationship with Nestor Partnership. They understand and are involved in the work that we do with disadvantaged people and why we are committed to raising money on behalf of Whizz Kidz.”
Ryan Lewis, a partner at Nestor Partnership, said: “We were originally asked to run one of the marathons alongside the FourCubed runners, but sadly after years of cross country running around Shrewsbury and Mid Wales, my knees can’t cope with road running, but we still wanted to be involved and are delighted to be one of the sponsors.
"We wish the runners from Anthony Collins every success in their fundraising quest for the fantastic charity that is Whizz Kidz.”
