National law firm Beachcroft has announced an eight per cent rise in turnover for the last year, with fee income rising by about £10 million in the last 12 months.

The company, which has a Birmingham office in Brindleyplace employing nine partners and 225 staff, announced a yearly turnover of £131 million, up from £121 million last year.

This year it made a profit of £24.5 million, up from £22.8 million in 2008/9, a rise of approximately 7.5 per cent.

The firm welcomed the figures, in a year that has seen it outsource jobs from regional offices, including their Birmingham site.

Managing partner Paul Murray said: “These figures continue to represent solid and sustainable growth. We had declared our intentions for this to be a year of consolidation, but in a fast changing market and one in which opportunities present themselves and must be seized, standing still is not an option. In the last 12 months we have acquired the WHCG business and the Halliwells and Stallards teams. In addition a further raft of strategic hires have been made at partner or equivalent level across the business. To achieve growth in both revenue and profit in such a challenging environment is no mean feat and should be a source of pride and confidence for our people.”

Senior partner Simon Hodson added “Over the last three years we have managed the business such that we have been able to continue to invest in our key sectors and show a steady return on that investment. By listening to our clients we have been able to take strategic decisions on growth that we know will deliver the services our clients want.”
