Wragge & Co has enhanced its dispute resolution practice with the hire of an international construction disputes partner.

Anthony Wilson joins Wragge & Co from the Cairo office of Middle East-based arbitration firm Hafez where he was a partner and head of construction disputes.

As Wragge & Co’s new head of international construction disputes, Mr Wilson will work closely with colleagues in the engineering and construction team, dispute resolution group and in the United Arab Emirates to build an international construction disputes practice.

His appointment follows that of former Barlow Lyde & Gilbert partner Peter Flint who joined Wragge & Co to head up its international arbitration practice in 2010.

Mr Wilson said: “With its market-leading, UK-based construction practice - both contentious and transactional - and its expanding network of international offices, Wragge & Co provides a terrific platform for the development of a first-class international construction disputes practice. I look forward to working with my new colleagues in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia to develop the firm’s presence in this area.”

Senior partner Quentin Poole said: “Having operated in it for the majority of his career, Anthony lives and breathes the international construction disputes market. Equally at home with local customs and commercial drivers as he is with international contracts and tribunals, Anthony brings considerable experience to the team.”
