Birmingham law firm Anthony Collins Solicitors has appointed a new partner and head of local government.

Olwen Dutton advises on governance and standards, the local government and health integration agenda, devolution, reorganisation and restructuring, and shared services and trading opportunities for councils.

She has previously held roles including chief executive at West Midlands LGA and West Midlands Regional Assembly, corporate director at Staffordshire County Council and associate director at the Audit Commission.

Most recently, she was a partner at Bevan Brittan and is also a non-executive director of Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust.

Mark Cook, partner at Anthony Collins, said: "Having Olwen join the team is good news for local government and fantastic for ACS.

"Her local government pedigree and wealth of experience will help to shape and lead our already successful team to achieve our goal to be a leading law firm for local government and an indispensable resource for council members and officers."
