Black Country law firm George Green has promoted Amanda Elwell to the position of partner and appointed her as head of its private client department.
A specialist in estate planning, wills and tax and trusts, Ms Elwell joined George Green in 2002. She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists, and is a Solicitor for the Elderly.
She speaks fluent German, French and Dutch and is a member of the British German Jurists Association, as well as of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
At George Green, in addition to her work advising clients on estate planning, wills and tax and trusts in the UK and overseas, she is the co-ordinator for the law firm’s membership of international legal network Ars Legis.
Ms Elwell will lead a team of eight in the private client department.
Richard Cliff, George Green senior partner, says: “I am delighted that Amanda has been promoted to partner. She is an outstanding solicitor and has already contributed strongly to the growth of both the private client department and the whole firm. Under her leadership our private client team will continue to go from strength to strength.
“Her appointment as partner after six years with the firm, is also testament to the fact that George Green continues to provide good opportunities for talented people.
“The firm continues to focus on growth. In fact we have just enjoyed a record turnover for the first quarter of our new financial year.”
