Staff at a major company in Birmingham are turning into Santa for a day - to help life-limited children to have a happier Christmas and New Year.
Big-hearted managers at Legal & General have paid the £15 entry fee for staff to join the Acorns Children's Hospice Santa Run at Brindleyplace, Birmingham on Saturday.
Legal & General, which employ 700 staff in the area, kindly promised to match the sponsorship money staff raise. People taking part in the Santa Run, starting at 10 30am, are asked to raise at least £25 sponsorship to help support care services at the hospice.
Sarah Allman, of Legal & General, said: "We are proud to support such a brilliant project. It's great that we can get involved, and we hope to raise a lot of money for the children. Legal & General have a major influence in Birmingham, so it is wonderful to take part in something that will have such a big impact locally."
Andy Jarrett, Sponsorship and Partnerships Manager at Acorns, said: "We are touched that staff from Legal and General helped Acorns in this way and by offering to help as volunteers at the event.
"The response to the Run has been very good so much so that we have had to hold a second event the same morning. We have a limited number of places left for this, and we urge people to register this week at www.acorns.org.uk/santarun to avoid disappointment and to join in making our Santa Run a jingling success.
"People who help with the Santa Run will come together with others on this moving morning. They can make a very positive difference to the life-limited children and families we serve, by helping provide respite, emergency and end-of-life care."
