Lawyers from MFG Solicitors were literally tickled pink by the success of a ladies’ night held to raise money for the Worcester Breast Unit Campaign.

The ‘You’ll Be Tickled Pink’ drinks and canapés evening at Mercedes Benz of Worcester raised more than £1,600 for the campaign.

Guests were given the opportunity to shop at a range of stalls including Michelle Griffin Hair Salon and 2nd Skin Lingerie.

Raffle prizes included the use of a Mercedes convertible for a week, while an auction conducted by Charles Robinson of estate agents Griffiths and Charles included lunch for four at the Glasshouse donated by Matt Powell of Worcester Warriors with Matt and fellow player Kai Horstmann, a set of pearls donated by Jamie James of Rock Lobster and a Serenata mobile phone donated by Jason Briggs of Bang & Olufsen Cheltenham.

MFG private practice development partner Gurdip Kaur-Brring said: “We’d like to thank everyone who supported the ‘You’ll be Tickled Pink’ event, which was a tremendous success raising funds for a unit which will hopefully improve the treatment experience for breast cancer patients.”

Party sponsors included Worcester Warriors, Rock Lobster Jewellery, Glasshouse Brasserie and Bar, the Worcester Wine Company, Modus Creative and Mercedes-Benz of Worcester.

The Worcester Breast Unit Campaign was initiated in 2007 by consultant breast surgeon Mr Steven Thrush, with the support of a small group of Trustees and volunteers.

It has already raised more than £120,000 towards the capital cost of the unit, which will be housed at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site.

Campaign co-ordinator Carole Crowe said: “This was yet another fantastic event supported by businesswomen here in the city – we are very grateful for that support.

“We are embarking on a new phase of the campaign which we hope will raise the remaining sum needed.”
