Three members of staff at the Birmingham office of law firm HBJ Gateley Wareing are setting out to take part in their very first triathlon.

Tim Connolly, of Sedgley, Jenny Connor, of Harborne, and Perry Buck, from Edgbaston, will be competing in the Stratford-Upon-Avon 220 Triathlon on May 9 where they hope to raise £1,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC). The trio are currently in the middle of a gruelling training programme which started just after Christmas.

Ms Connor said: ‘We’ve been training for several weeks now and it’s tough keeping it going in all weathers, but we are very determined! Hopefully now we are into the spring it will spur us on to ensure we are running, swimming and cycling on a regular basis.

“We are training together once a week as well as going to the gym and doing long distance bike rides individually. We can’t wait for the final few weeks of training when we plan some long bike rides together and then the big day itself.”

The sprint triathlon in Stratford will involve a 400 metre swim, a 23 kilometre bike ride and lastly a five kilometre run.

The trio all hope to complete the course in under two hours and will be raising funds for MSRC – a leading national charity that helps to support MS sufferers and their families.
