Law firm Eversheds has launched the first comprehensive web-based guide to critical legal issues in European countries.

Directors Law of Europe is an online tool that provides detailed information on the governing law in 29 different European countries in a single systemised source.

From Italy to Poland, legal counsel for multi-national corporations will now have immediate access to legal information critically important to their company to assist their efforts in corporate compliance and governance.

" The world has truly become flat," said Paul Smith, a partner at Eversheds and the driving force behind Directors Law of Europe. "As a result, it is now imperative for businesses to be able to navigate a vast labyrinth of multi-venue, multifaceted law.

"We designed Directors Law of Europe to be a comprehensive and, at the same time, a user- friendly resource," Mr Smith added.

"It will enable companies all over the world to do business in Europe more costeffectively and with less risk."

Directors Law of Europe covers a full range of legal issues and is claimed to be the only single source of this information anywhere in the world.

"If you serve as general counsel for any multinational corporation, or if you are US general counsel with operations in Europe, you must have access to Directors Law of Europe," said Thomas Sager, DuPont's vice-president and assistant general counsel.

"This resource is undeniably important to anyone doing business across Europe," Mr Sager added.
