Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has appointed its new president.
Darren Jones, managing director of Link Mailing, has taken on the role in succession to 4Club&Country boss Paul Sullivan.
Mr Jones, aged 36, has been involved with the chamber for several years and his new role includes chairing board meetings and being an ambassador for the area's SMEs. Born and bred in Coventry, Mr Jones said he wanted to ensure the city and wider county pulled together to support the needs of business.
He said: "We are one of the biggest chambers in the country and are certainly very well respected for the work we have done in several fields. "We do wield an influence on many, many levels and that is something I want to help build for the good of business in the area."
Mr Jones, who will hold office for two years, said that with a population of 800,000 the area had the potential to be a powerful voice in the region.
"When you look at our combined assets - skills, labour force, living environment, transport links and two universities - not only do we have great potential but we are also a very attractive option for inward investment," he added.
The chamber provides advice, international trade contacts human resources support and a range of other services to around 2,000 members and also acts as a lobbying voice on a local, regional and national scale. One of its previous chief executives, David Frost, is the current head of the British Chambers of Commerce.
