Stourbridge-based Jonathan Lee Group has boosted turnover past the £30 million mark after a cquiring specialist recruitment firm John Prodger.

The deal gives the group a fifth regional office and a combined total headcount of 120.

John Prodger Recruitment will continue to operate from its current premises in St Albans, from where the company can now offer a range of new services, including contract (temporary) recruitment through Jonathan Lee Contracts, plus a range of HR services through Jonathan Lee Group's integrated HR brand.

John Prodger divisional manager Kay Alexander said: "We share many values with Jonathan Lee; perhaps the most obvious is our belief in thoroughly understanding the industries we support.

"Another key differentiator in these days of online recruitment is our ability to provide clients with a few carefully selected candidates, rather than simply bombarding them with multiple CVs in the hope that one 'sticks'."

She added: "Another strong similarity is low staff turnover. Consistency of staff provides tremendous continuity to both clients and candidates which, in turn, allows us to build long-lasting, fruitful relationships."

Jonathan Lee, chairman of Jonathan Lee Group, said: "All parties stand to benefit from this acquisition and we are delighted to welcome our new colleagues.

"We are gaining valuable additional expertise in the defence, electronics and aerospace sectors, whilst also enabling Kay and her team to offer a much broader range of services through the extensive capabilities of the Jonathan Lee Group."

The value of the acquisition was not disclosed.
