Pears (Personal Executive Assistants Regional Society) was set up by the Brindleyplace management team in 2004 to recognise the integral role PAs play to the overall success of businesses across the professional services industry.

Since then the rate of PAs and senior secretaries joining the society has increased to over 350 members.

Pears meetings are held on a monthly basis at different places across the city, giving members the opportunity to view different kinds of venues.

Recent events have taken place at the Hyatt Regency, Bank Bar and Restaurant, Birmingham Hippodrome, Selfridges and The Vaults to name but a few.

It is completely free to join Pears and at each event PAs get to hear talks on a wide variety of topics, sample the culinary delights of Birmingham and of course to network.

Many of the existing members joined when Pears was set up and continue to enjoy attending the events and have built up valuable contacts with like-minded PAs and venues across the city.

One of the members commented about the fourth anniversary event at the Hyatt Regency: “I thought the evening was really great and I even managed to speak to three new people in a kind of networking way!

“It was good to get a tour of the hotel as well as I had never seen the restaurant, bedrooms or conference facilities. An excellent evening.”
