Luxury retailer Harvey Nichols is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Birmingham’s Mailbox – by creating 25 new jobs.

The upmarket Mailbox store says it is bucking the economic trend with a host of new appointments across its fashion and lifestyle departments.

It has also unveiled changes on the shop floor, including a striking new Espresso Cafe, an extended menswear department and a dedicated private shopping suite for men, to complement its personal shopping service.

General manager Kevin Breese said: “Despite a tough year on the high street we continue to strive to offer the very best shopping experience in the region.

“The creation of 25 new jobs demonstrates how far we go to meet our customers’ expectations and that we continue to invest in the ongoing success of our store.”

Harvey Nichols was one of the first luxury brands to launch in the city following the launch of the Mailbox, helping raise Birmingham’s status as a shopping destination.

As a champion of City Centre Partnership and Retail Birmingham, Harvey Nichols has helped spearhead a number of city-wide promotional projects including the Style Birmingham website, magazine and shopping event.

“Our tenth birthday party is a tribute to what we have achieved and a celebration of our successes over the last decade," added Mr Breese.

"It is also a massive thank you for the loyal support we receive from our customers and business partners in the city.

"I am certainly looking forward to marking the next ten years in Birmingham."
