Law firm Mills & Reeve has recruited one of Birmingham's leading employment barristers.

Jennifer Jones, formerly a member of No 5 Chambers, Fountain Court, and deputy head of its employment group, leaves today to take up a position as associate at Mills & Reeve's Birmingham office.

Ms Jones' appointment further strengthens the firm's employment department, which now boasts a team of ten employment lawyers, led by partners Martin Brewer, Nick Abbott and Jog Hundle.

The team specialises in advising the commercial, health and education sectors.

Since being called to the Bar in 1991, she has practised in all areas of employment law. She has particular experience in advising on complex discrimination cases, acting on behalf of public and commercial sector employers.

Ms Jones also sits as a part- time Employment Tribunal chairman and is a member of the Bar Human Rights Committee.

Mr Hundle said: " Jennifer is one of the most respected employment barristers in Birmingham and her appointment is a major boost for the firm.

"She has excellent experience under her belt, particularly within the education, health and commercial sectors. She knows the city's legal scene very well and her knowledge and expertise will be an invaluable asset to the team."

Ms Jones said: "I am very much looking forward to joining the employment team at Mills & Reeve.

"The firm has impressed me with its modern outlook on the provision of high quality legal services and its thorough approach to client care."
