Shoosmiths has further expanded its services in Birmingham with the appointment of a new partner specialising in commercial law.

David Jackson joins from global food service organisation Compass Group where he was lead counsel for their PFI/Major Projects legal workload in the health, defence and education sectors.

Prior to joining Compass, he worked at the Birmingham office of DLA where he was a solicitor in the commercial and projects group.

Mr Jackson has a wealth of experience working on major outsourcing deals and advising clients setting up distribution/supply chain networks throughout the UK and overseas.

And, joining from Hammonds, commercial lawyer Robin Webb will be advising clients on manufacturing, distribution and agency arrangements, collaboration and research and development agreements.

Joel Kordan, partner and head of the Birmingham office, said: "We are attracting high calibre lawyers like David and Robin who see a bright future at Shoosmiths.

"These two new joiners will be a valuable addition not only to Birmingham but also to our commercial group nationally," he added.

They follow on from the recent appointments of corporate partner Chris Garnett from Eversheds and dispute resolution partner Alex Bishop and solicitor Helen Pickford from DLA. ..SUPL:
