Small and medium-sized businesses in the Midlands are being invited to take advantage of opportunities in Africa.

The international trade team at Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, is organising a market visit to Ghana from June 4 to 9.

Ghana is the UK's fifth largest export market in subSaharan Africa, with £155 million worth of British exports last year.

There are opportunities for West Midlands companies in many sectors, including agriculture, tourism, ICT, transport infrastructure, power, consumer goods, reconditioned machinery and textiles.

"Ghana is a prosperous market for British exporters," said international trade adviser Ajay Desai, who is leading the visit. Ghanaians are keen on doing business with UK firms, whose goods are associated with quality."
