A trucking company in Coventry is going from strength to strength on the road to success.
In Transit, based at the Old Alvis Works industrial estate near Coventry Airport, is an international haulage specialist run by husband and wife team Barrie and Jayne Smith.
Yorkshire Bank has worked with the company for years, providing asset finance for the purchase of some of the 50 trucks in In Transit's fleet.
Now the bank has teamed up with the Baginton company with assistance on invoice finance.
In Transit was set up 14 years ago in Kenilworth before expanding into a site within Coventry Airport in 1998.
Two years later further expansion saw a move to the current site at the Old Alvis Works. The firm now employs 56 staff, driving 50 trucks on a 24-hour rota basis.
Mrs Smith said: "Running a business on this scale is a long way from when we started 14 years ago with three vans parked outside our home.
"Yorkshire Bank has been incredibly helpful and invoice finance is proving to be extremely effective for the business."
In Transit specialises in road haulage and emergency freight transport and also offers short term storage facilities and arranging air freight. Its vehicles can cater for loads from just one kilogramme to 26,000 kgs.
Gary Foster, business partner at Yorkshire Bank's Financial Solutions Centre, based at the Ricoh Arena, said: "It is a pleasure to see a local company doing business so successfully on an international level."
