Nationwide efforts to help torture victims are being given a boost tonight thanks to top impressionist Alistair McGowan and Birmingham's Jam House.

TV's 'Big Impression' star is to compere a fundraising evening of music and comedy at the St Paul's Square venue to support the Heart of England committee of the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture.

It will feature flamenco, soul and jazz from Sutton Coldfield-based soloist Ben Drummond and a mix of soul, jazz and funk from Wolverhampton-band The Whitmo' Deans.

All the proceeds from the evening, which will include a charity auction, will go to the foundation.

Tickets are available, priced at £10, from the Jam House by calling 0121 200 3030.
